Looking at their roadmap, they seem to be very optimistic seeing they have not yet even made the tooling.
I received a card in the mail today thanking me for my deposit, nothing more or less.
I had a look at their website and it has been updated to end Feb 2025 but no further info currently. I'm happy to support development of a new - original - P&S, though like others I'm not making plans around receiving this in line with the above timeline.

I do wish them the best. But already have so many superb p&s cameras that cost me pennies, that there is no urge to jump on this bandwagon.
Let's be honest - this is the camera that Pentax should have made instead of their dopey P17.
I'll keep you posted if it turns out to be a thing and... turns out to be a thing that works and isn't dopey
I think I am just a sucker for the sweet boxy shape and, critical for me, being a new, original camera (otherwise I'd much rather buy one of the millions of the originals still in circulation - although ha ha not the random sickly looking one I grabbed an image of below!)

Also decided to back them and place the 5€ deposit. I want this project (and similar projects) to succeed and willing to commit to the 339€ for the camera.

I have a resolution for no new gear in 2025. Given their timeline, I don't think I'm in danger of slipping up.
I too swore off more gear in 2025, but like you, I don't see them delivering this anytime soon lol.
My wife really wants a P&S for nostalgia reasons, and I couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger on anything while in Japan back in January. Part of my hesitation, was the price vs the product. $400+ for a 30 year old Yashica T4 just doesn't seem like a wise investment to me.
I dig the idea of a new $400 +/- P&S. So after reading this entire thread, they got my $6 this morning.
If they deliver, rad, if not, I'm only out $6 lol.

You named T4, is that because your wife love the look?
If by look, you mean the photos it produces, then yes. If by look you mean the actual aesthetics, then yes.
There were several other P&S that I was looking into. The T4 was just an easy example of an old P&S, that is in the same wheel house price wise, as the aF-1.

Cheers
In the mean time, spend $20-$30 on one of the gazillions of excellent but not youtube famous p&s cameras out there while you wait for this new $400 one.
I’m sure people here can point you in the right direction.

Still not trying to buy any new gear in 2025 (for at least the last three quarters anyway ).

Crickets from the aF-1, the website still shows 'tooling modification' status, I don't feel like I'm going to be capturing July 4th on mine.
