Sweet shot, nicely processed. I like all the lines leading into the rock, would also work for me if it was exactly centered.
Thank you kindly Jim. It was good challenge of what I have learned in processing. At first I took too much shadow out IMO then reposted it with more shadow for a better visual balance on light.
Should have been a shot with multiple exposures perhaps but it was a 'one-shot' exposing for the highlights and dig out the shadows which worked

Hi Karl,
I love the colors and textures in this image. Most of the lines in the image lead to that big rock. Do you want it to be the subject of the photo? Getting wet feet and using that bolder as a natural frame might work better.

Yep - its a pic of a not so interesting very big rock among some big rocks with a background that looks to be more photogenic than this big rock. If that's the case I would have waded out into the stream and probably shot much lower, maybe about 10 inches above the water, with the very big rock about 2/3 to the right of frame. However, that's all speculation as I cannot see what's in the background from this pic. BTW your exposure/colors are great.

Hello Dave. I appreciate your directness in your opinion on this image, thanks for being blunt This was casual walk with family along the river, not a photo shoot for me. Wasn't at all dressed to be wading in the water though swimming is allowed. Not making up excuses but around the corner of this rock was about 50 people scattered along so the rocks were a blocker
Your website is inspirational, thanks a ton for your input Dave, will continue to train my eye
Appreciate the the color and exposures being solid.
