Looks like no one has started a thread for the new Sony A1 mk2 here we go.
It was a pretty crummy day for shooting but I found a willing Northern harrier.
All shots taken with the A1 II and the 300GM with 2x extender.
I don't shoot wildlife or birds so am coming to the A1ii from a very different perspective from the way I see most people here using the A1 system. I shoot events, people, landscape and street photography and regard it as the 'swiss army knife' of mirrorless cameras, the best all rounder there is. I haven't had much time with it as I have been unwell most of the time since getting it just over a week ago.
Thanks, yes, I was shooting the Tamron 28-200.......it's a nice versatile lens, not the absolute best at anything, but I use it a lot when shooting unknown or a variety of subjects.
Something a bit weird with how your pictures show up on FM - they seem to overlap the browser border on the right hand side.
With just the url it seems to render properly in the browser frame.
AF was very good and the silent shutter came in very handy, as there were parts without any music and I was sitting in the middle of the crowd (Used an A7RV before).
I was even more impressed with the 28-70 F2 though, was just enough to keep the shutter speed high enough. I accidentally shot half of it on 2.8, and after changing to F2 it worked quite a bit better.
I also really needed the zoom as I was sitting close by and there was a lot of moving back and forth.
I am not a bird photographer so some settings were wrong and light is awful in grey London at the moment but I had a little play with pre-capture and can see it would be useful.
Since I am also planning to use this as my walk around camera, I took some shots in the forest today.
I used the 28-70 GM here (Sharpest zoom lens I ever used so far, but too front heavy for walks. Will probably use the 24-50 in combination with the A1).
I'm pretty new to Sony and only have one decent result from my first tests of my bird/wildlife setup. Next outing should improve. Not too challenging here, but I was happy with the quality of the beast.

Lovely shots. I especially like the portrait of the bald-headed man. His expression and the tonalities are terrific.
Like you, I don't shoot BIF or sports. Most of my photography where excellent AF is important are photographs of people in natural settings.
What do you think the A1 II is going to add for you in street photography over what the A1 can do? I have been thinking about getting an A1 II, but I really don't quite see that it improves over what I can do with the A1. I have used the AI autofocus in my a7cr and it seems like a slight improvement on the A1, but nothing game-changing.
