p.1 #1 · Autumn Woodlands of the Blue Ridge and Smoky Mountains
Congratulations to Ross Martin for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 7 votes - View Previous Winners
This is my third and final part from my series on 2024 fall woodlands in both the Smoky Mountains and the Blue Ridge Mountains. While I was camped in GSMNP the beginning section of the Blue Ridge Parkway was still closed from the ravages of the Helene storm, but before my trip ended about 40 miles of the parkway reopened and I was excited to get back there and find some images to complement my Smokies work.
As with my last sets, I was grateful to be shooting the 61mp Sony A7RV which has become my favorite landscape camera in the last four decades, and lenses for these shots were the GMII zooms 24-70 and 70-200 plus my new companion, the small/light Sigma 500mm which is opening up new compositional possibilities for me.
For those celebrating the holiday season this month, I wish you a happy and blessed one!
