Howdy all,
Long time no post. I figured I'd drop in and share some of the work I'm continuing to do on my military portrait project. Its been over 10 years of this, so hopefully I'm starting to figure out how to do it!

These are great. Car to share your lighting setup?
I will try to dig up the files and post here, but it looks like you just found me on insta... the first photo has a BTS posted 3OCT2023.
Generally I'm using a gridded parabolic softbox as mykey either 35 or 47" using the feathered edge. Various forms of fill, sometimes a light sometimes a v flat. Occasionally using a kicker but usually trying for one or two lights unless there's a reason I need more.

I just love the simplicity of the lighting on the two men you posted.
Maybe all the medals add some interest as well compared to guys in suits and ties.
The first shot was a little over a year ago but I'm particularly partial to it, and the others are in the past few months.
I found that a profile without having to look directly at the camera got that subject more relaxed, and that was more successful than the other versions of the portrait.
