The 50 and 135 is more about patience and understanding wildlife behavior. I used those lenses on elephants as they ranged closer to the road. some of it is luck with where the car is parked. it's not easy to get that close to other wildlife without using a blind or hide. The other way to think about it is that the 50/135 replace my 70-200 in the bag.
