Hey everyone, I'm in the market for an M-mount 75mm and thought I'd ask for some opinions. I predominately shoot landscape and travel (so portraits are relatively rare) and am looking for something with a modern rendering. In the past I owned the 75mm APO-Summicron and loved it but, sadly, it's pretty firmly out of my price range right now. I currently shoot the 90mm APO-Skopar - also love it - but would like something a bit wider.
In any case, I'm leaning towards the Voigt 75mm 1.9 Ultron or the Leica Summarit 75mm 2.4/2.5. Anyone have experience with these? Any opinions in general? Or options I've missed? I've been looking at test shots from the Ultron and Summarit 2.5 to get a feel but am having trouble finding direct comparisons.
Other options that you could include for consideration are: Voigtlander LTM 75 f/2.5 Color-Heliar
and Voigtlander M 75 F/1.5 Nokton. I have both and like them a lot.
If you do look at the Color-Heliar, make sure that it does not have haze, especially if purchasing from Japan. I was able to get one brand new a few years ago, so it was in perfect condition, but I don't know if new ones are still available.
I have the Voigtlander 75/1.9 Ultron. I don't use it a lot but when I do, I am very happy with it. I mainly use it as a telephoto. I assume you have gone through Fred's review. I really don't think you can go wrong with it, it is small with very good image quality at a reasonable price.
CV 75/1.9 is great—I’ll pick up another soon. The only gotcha is the very short focus throw and long focus range due to the short MFD can make it tricky to focus. And you’ll have a very hard time finding comps of the Summarit and CV both at 1.9
Thank you all for the input! I went ahead and picked up the CV 75mm 1.9. I think all but one of my M lenses are Voigtlander at this point...all very good so far!
