Steve, while I dont have the Sony version, I do have the Canon version and I LOVE it!
This lens above renders extremely well!
I have only 2 zooms in my aresnal! This is 1.

Thanks Steve! I can definitely recommend the lens. It really does have a nice rendering and is so sharp. The lens to me renders like a Zeiss or Voigtlander lens. I generally enjoy mostly using prime lenses, but in some instances (like in 0 degrees F temperatures!) having a mid-range zoom mounted like this is so versatile. I was able to capture quite a few nice keepers on my hour long walk with that lens.

70-200 II IS f2.8....Tack sharp! Yes it is a tad heavy for a 77 yr olde fart! with tremors. Rest of my lenses are primes.
