Am I alone in problems with these new batteries, which I had to purchase special for the R5M2, not holding their charges? I put the battery on the provided Canon charger, check its charge level after it shows green and see it's at or around 100%, then daily the charge level drops without being in the camera, but just stored, to below 90%?
I've been over to the Canon site and found there were others who also found the same issue I have with canon batteries in general.
I'm seeing a drop to low 80s% range after about 60 days, which is consistent with the older LP-E6 series batteries. None of my 5 LP-E6Ps have dropped 10% in just one day.
Is it possible that your battery was not charged to 100%? If a battery is higher than the low 90s% at the start of charging the LC-E6 will proceed to the green light, but not charge in order to protect the battery.
Check the charge state in the camera right after being charged and then take it out. Do that every day for a week to see what's happening.
Let me clarify, the drop to 86% took place over a 2 week period for the R5M2. In contrast my Neewer batteries that I used for my R5 retained their charge levels much longer.
That's a bit faster than I'd expect. It may be faster for the first few days or there is some other variable.
I just checked my oldest LP-E6P battery that was last charged about 8 weeks ago and it is 81%.
The discharge is most likely from the BMS. Loose INR cells with no protection maintain a charge for a long time.

The question is how well the new BMS work. One claimed 6A, which is not meeting the Canon P 8A but probably enough for most purposes. It's good to see some alternatives. I'll get at least one next year for testing.
Have you or anyone tested them? It's a bit much for me to get 3 just for testing. I don't see singles like that for sale.
I do see a single battery under the Neewer brand claiming LP-E6P compatibility but it is brown with a USB-C input.
