p.5 #1 · Light Lens Lab 28mm f/2.8 9-Element Review

Adding the Sigma BF as another L-mount camera the works with this lens (with M-L adapter). Clears fine, unlike the SLs.

p.5 #2 · Light Lens Lab 28mm f/2.8 9-Element Review

I love the build quality of LLL lenses, and the 28/2.8 was no exception. And it looks so cool, especially as the black started to brass, even with the bulbous hood. But I really did find it sharp and contrasty, at odds with the vintage lenses it physically mimicked, and that was on B&W film, not digital, albeit with colored filters. I even find their 8 element 35/2 replica sharper with more contrast than the original, losing some charm, but with the benefit of better flare control and highlight protection. In a moment of weakness I let the 28/2.8 go. It is a very capable lens, and sometimes I think of reacquiring it -- haven't we all played that game before -- but 35mm is my main focal length, so not sure a 28mm makes much sense. Too close in field of view. But what I'm learning about LLL is that, if you have even minimal interest, consider grabbing their lenses when in production, because there may come a time when you can't get them. See eg, the 50/1.2; I sold that one too.
