p.1 #1 · Rjukandafoss - Iceland

As a hobbyist photographer, I'm always drawn to the challenge of capturing the perfect waterfall image. During my trip to Iceland, I was mesmerized by the countless waterfalls, but Rjukandi in Jökuldalur truly stood out. Located just off Highway 1, this 139-meter-high cascade is part of the Ysti-Rjukandi River, originating north of Mount Sandfell. A well-marked trail leads you to the waterfall's base, where you can admire its dramatic S-curve. The day I visited, the weather was surprisingly ideal for photography: thick cloud cover and a light drizzle created a mystical atmosphere, with fog shrouding the top of the falls.

Sharing couple of different compositions for this one, let me know which one is preferred.

Thanks for viewing and welcome your feedback.

Wow, what a falls! Each image is worthy, Parul, but for me the second one is just perfect, wonderful lines to lead you in and the misty fog at top adds atmosphere. And your choice of white balance is excellent, giving the water a pure clean look. This image make me really want to be there.

Great images! I like the composition of #2 over #1 as the eroded hillside on the right side didn't add to the scene so the portrait orientation works better. Such a beautiful place!

I really like how you leveraged crappy skies to add to the mood of the image and blend in with the flowing water. I always struggle with that small triangle of light above falls and you handled it masterfully.

Thank you very much! Iceland is definitely a waterfall paradise. After visiting Norway, I think Norway might be up there with Iceland when it comes to waterfalls.

To be honest, the light was soft and the low clouds on the top half of the falls it really made it easy to photograph this one. Appreciate your feedback and encouragement. Thanks

Thank you all for your comments and feedback. #2 is a clear winner as far as composition goes. Thanks
