Hi wondering if anyone tried the newer v105 with dedicated on off switch. Hoping to know if it's any faster than the vl03 lag as Im intending to get one for fast street shooting and a 1/2 sec lag ain't going to cut it.

Sounds like it has the same hardware as v103B's. CS' website did talk about shutter lag in one previous update post when the original v103 was replaced with v103B, so I guess it would mention if v105 is faster.
TBH, v103B's lag isn't that bad. In the first train photo in my Dodgers post above, the door is actually closing (I snapped it when I saw it moving). If the lag were 1/2 second, I think the door would be more closed.

The reason the V103 has lag is because the shutter button doubles as the on/off switch.
As the 105 version has a separate on/off switch, I would assume there no longer is any lag.

You could email or call them and ask.
I did post on reddit and the moderator said it's just the switch changed and nothing more.
I was hoping this would be a fast lofi street sweeper. It has a lot going for it as a street camera. Minimal, discreet and easy to use. Just put exposure dials and distance leaver and you got a digital barnack more or less.

That doesn't make sense because that would imply the shutter button still turns the camera on/off.
It's quite clear from the photos of the power switch at the back.
Anyway I did email the company to which their reply simply was 'It’s the same chip as the 103B'. Meaning to say that it should perform the same. I guess the lag can only be judged by user to the possibility that splitting the power and shutter has improved lag
A bit annoying that they did not test the latest version with the dedicated on/off switch.
Because there is nothing new here in this test that hasn't been covered by everyone else 6 months ago.
