On a visit to Skyline Overlook UT last month it was very different from my previous visits a few yeas ago when we camped by ourselves. Since I've been lucky to shoot some good sunrises there before I took time to shoot my fellow photographers. I joked with this guy that he was posing for me and got his card so I could send him some if they came out. I was very disappointed after leaving to find it had slipped out of my pocket as I ran around shooting. If you recognize him (he had an eastern European accent and name) let me know and I'll try to find him.
Awesome shot. Too bad you lost his contact information. I am sure he would print it large! I do this on workshops as well in special places. Half the reason I am out there is to capture great images. The other half is for the community of photographers and just to be out in such beautiful locations.
Nice work Jim. I'm torn between the two photos. I like the light and the silhouette in the first but also like seeing more of the landscape in the second.
I really appreciate #2. I am not necessarily a person that hangs a bunch of pictures of myself, but if someone candidly took a photograph of me in a stunning environment like this it would be on my wall large.
Love the colors on the first but I'd have to pick the second for its scale of the place. I hope you can somehow find the guy. I know if it was me that I'd love to have a copy of this
As an aside, when I visited two years ago a couple of campers pitched their tent in the middle of the road near the overlook. If my BIL hadn't seen the tent (as we drove in in pitch darkness) it would have not been a good morning for any of us. I had a talk with them after we got our shots and they didn't have any idea that we were so close to disaster.
