Very nice set of images! I've been there a few times but haven't had nearly the variety of wildlife to see that you have much of which I suspect is due to the time of day.
Thanks for the note. I've been visiting Pt. Reyes since 2015... on and off, so I've begun to understand where and when to look for subjects. I tend to prefer early morning photography because I don't like to be around others when I'm shooting. In addition, I find the time during the first two hours of light to be the most productive. Of course this requires that you wake up early, hike in the dark, and shoot at high ISOs, but this seems to be the best time to see the most interesting behaviors.

Hey Bruce, Tim here. I think we met yesterday out the window of the Suburban
Great shots, thanks for sharing your encounters.
Hi Tim... I was at Natural Bridges State Park photographing monarch butterfly roosting clusters on Sunday and Monday (close to my home), so you may have met another Bruce. I do, however, hope to be back at Pt Reyes in December
cheers,

Love that bobcat! Sorry, but someone had to say it Bruce. Really nice and diverse set. Well done.
Eric
Hello Eric... Thank you very much.
I have photographed bobcats at Point Reyes since 2015. Most of my shots have been average at best with some decent behaviors. During my September trip, I was very fortunate to encounter the same cat two days in a row. The first encounter was sunny, and this creates some exposure challenges. The second encounter was more overcast and foggy. I ended up hiking into her territory and just sat still for most of the time. She seemed way less concerned about me than the opportunity to find a fat gopher to eat. In the end, I spent about 90 minutes over two days with her. I did photograph a few pounces and saw her catch a meadow vole or mouse, but never got the "gopher in the mouth shot," I've always wanted... it's the pre-visualized dreams that cause me to go back over and over again

Fantastic set Bruce. Love the variety of wildlife. I'm with Eric, the Bobcat is awesome !
Greg
Thank you Greg...
Bobcats are definitely one of highlights of Point Reyes. There are a lot of gophers, and thus food for the cats, coyotes, badgers, and long-tailed weasels that can be found. I have yet to find or photograph badgers and weasels, and this year has been my best cat outing to date... the variety of landscape and wildlife continues to fuel my desire to visit and revisit the park.
