Is it my imagination, or is the Leica forum more active at times than the other major camera fora? It seems like ther is also more Leica gear for sale in the Buy and Sell also.

It’s a good group on the Leica and Alt forum. We don’t always agree but it’s almost always respectful debate with little name calling. Many people here I respect greatly. Mostly because they stand their ground and debate, with their honest opinions. I think it’s active because it’s generally a healthy place to come and discuss photography and gear. People like that. There are definitely a few toxic ones in other places.
Can you think of another lot that would send a camera all over the world and actually get it back a year later?
A couple more factors: the forum also encompasses the remnants of the very easygoing and friendly Alt forum of days gone by; and Leica et al people here have different priorities and interests in their pursuit of photography.
Different demographics also, no brand warfare. And the background and support for manual focus lenses, including Cosina and the other new entrants, and this also forms a significant part of the usage of Leica's SL camera range. A lot to like, and the numbers reflect that.

It's a great forum full of helpful information and folks. It does have alt gear participants as well who use all sorts of lenses that can work with many brands. Still a few trolls that pop in to offer nothing of value, but less so in this forum.
I post a few items on the Sony forum about Voigtlander lenses and note that they seem to carry over to the Leica forum. I think those type of posts might add to the traffic.
I agree that this forum is full of helpful contributors that are passionate about Leica. I own an MP and M7 and it's helpful to read about the wide array of lenses, warts and all. I love the insights everyone provides.
Of all the gear boards, this Leica/Alt forum probably has the most cross-posted threads with other boards, which increases apparent activity because of participation from others on the those boards.
Back when Sony was spun off Alt and then Fuji and m43, resulting in Alt becoming Leica/Alt, each time I advocated the consolidation of all gear discussion posts onto one board in part because it felt like what made the Alt great back then was being lost through siloing certain discussions to specific brands or formats. On such an all-encompassing board, each post would be tagged the relevant brand or format for easier filtering for those who prefer to see only those related to specific brands or formats. I would prefer to see everything on one page because there are often interesting discussions of a general nature currently hidden away (from me) on brand-specific boards I don't normally visit. The downside could be easier 'cross contamination' from trolls.
One thing about the Leica thread is it's mostly photographs. And the folks that post there are not only good photographers but very helpful and nice. It's my favorite thread on the internet.
