not to keep beating a dead horse as it seems like some of this stuff is already out of stock, but the z5 with a kit lens seems to be a good deal as well if someone is looking for a more entry level setup - $899 right now (but the body alone is $1017)
I couldn't go thru... tried to buy the Z7 II and 40mm 2.0 but my credit card was declined. I used my Chase credit card. They immediately texted me asking if it was a fraud. I said no. Tried again, no go. Chase do not flag things as fraud usually but they did for this attempt at Nikon. So it is unusual for me. I often have problems buying cameras or boat related stuff with my other credit cards but not with Chase til today.
UPDATE, the 3rd try went thru. I got the email confirmation. But the real proof is it arriving and everything checks out. It is a bit strange that the Z7II is priced lower than the Z7... perhaps too good to be true but others have bought successfully in this forum so I'll find out soon enough.

This was widely reported during the last sale too. I think Nikon has updated their credit card processor in the background.

I personally sell things for a living (not camera related) and I've found out that credit card processors do like to flag camera and boat stuff websites. High value means that credit card thieves like to buy from there then resell the bought items.
Chase's credit cards are the only ones I don't have a problem with... til today. I guess after I replied no to their fraud inquiry teams, they allowed my card to be used after the 3rd try (see the update to my earlier message).

PSA: Chase credit cards were reported to go through flawlessly through Nikon's CC flaky processor. During the previous sale my Visa was declined repeatedly, so was the Amex, but the Amazon Chase Visa went through on the first try. Glad that the 180-600 sold out, I don't need a lens like that but at $1200 I was thinking about it hard at 7am this morning

It's not Nikon's processor that's the issue. Nikon has been flagged as a high-risk vendor by multiple large credit card companies per discussions I've had with the two CC fraud departments.

Does Nikon have a tendency to sell crap items or is it more like thieves like to buy Nikons with stolen credit cards and then sell for physical cash?
I am hoping it is the latter.
The worst website credit card problems I had with various credit cards were ALL camera or boat related. Never in other arenas. I had problems with B&H (yes, really, 4x), and Defender (2x) (a marine goods website) plus some others I can't quite remember exactly at this point.

Nope, Chase card rejected here. Re: Snapsy’s post makes sense, it’s a good way to use a stolen card to get hands on valuable goods. Thief doesn’t much care as long as it ships.
