Thanks everyone! As usual for me, all low angle shots with the lens hood just millimeters above the water or resting on the shoreline.

#13 for me.
Really neat to see such different coloration than all the snowy egrets I'm used to seeing.
#13 is almost full frame. They get close if you just sit down and let them chase fish around.
Funny, I know people that go way out of their way to chase white morph reddish. Snowies look almost the same and behave similarly sometimes . I actually have some shots with snowy and reddish egrets chasing fish in the same frame.

Beautiful images, I understand why you had a problem choosing them but for me 18 is a bit much.

Thanks! I get that some want less images. I prefer to save up a whole bunch of good images and do one good post rather than spam ones and twos over months. I like when others save up and post a bunch at once too.

Steller Set. Great composition and light. Voted
Thanks. Ironic, all these were on cloudy days. No sunshine despite this being a species from sunny locales.

Good series showing the Reddish egret habit for fishing, nicely done
Thank you! Not much habitat shown other than some seaweed in the intertidal area.

Great set and I enjoyed every one of them.
Love the fact that we can so see the antics of the Reddish Egrets hunting for breakfast or dinner

I am glad you liked them.

I appreciate it. I have taken thousands of reddish images. I have plenty more to share at some point. Too many to choose from.

Please remove the word 'amateur' from your profile listing
Each aspect of photography and presentation excel here IMO.
YGMV with enthusiasm!
Stunning and a treat to see and much respect to your talent to capture and present this subject so wonderfully.

If someone wants to pay me for photography I will remove the amateur tag .

These are just an amazing series of images Rex. Such great backgrounds and beautiful processing of a stunning heron.
Dave
Not Rex, but thanks! Good backgrounds were intentional by getting the light behind me, the lens down to water level, ensuring a close subject, a nice green area behind the bird, and shooting wide open.

These are all incredible - well done. Were you in a blind or is this bird quite friendly?
Thanks. No blind or camo required. If you sit or lay down at the shoreline they will ignore you if you stay still. They often get too close to focus in the locations I shoot at as long as you don’t make sudden moves and keep a lowered height profile. They are far more focused on chasing fish.
