During my Iceland road trip, I stopped to photograph the iconic black church in Búðir. Luckily, I had the place all to myself for over thirty minutes before the arrival of a tour bus. This peaceful solitude allowed me to fully appreciate the church and capture some photos against the dramatic backdrop. The day was perfect, with clear sky with fluffy clouds. Unfortunately, the church was closed to visitors, so I was unable to explore its interior.

Some facts about the church:Búðakirkja is a small wooden church located on the south side of Snæfellsnes Peninsula- Iceland.
It is a local parish church that was first established in 1703 but the current church was built in1848. The church is known for its beauty, both the building itself and in contact with the surrounding area. The church is still used to this day, both for traditional church events for the parish, but also for other events like destination weddings, music events, and storytelling to name a few.

Yes, I agree with you Doug. I love photographing places of worship and always try to get interior pictures but no luck here.
