p.1 #1 · Kenya: Nairobi NP, Maasai Mara NR, and Ripoi Conservancy
Congratulations to Abuttolph for winning Feature Thread of the Week with 3 votes - View Previous Winners
Here are a few more images from my recent trip to east Africa. These images were shot in Nairobi National Park, Maasai Mara National Reserve, and Ripoi Conservancy. In addition to the usual animals, I was fortunate to see servals in three locations (including Serengeti National Park but I did not get good photos during that sighting) and a few images of them are included in this group of shots.

Wow, I keep thinking I've seen the best wildlife images I'm going to see, and then someone like you post images like these. I started trying to pick favorites and gave up. The longer I study each image, the more I see that I like -- every one is a winner.
I can't imaging how many images you had to cull to get down to your 'keepers'.
This collection gets my vote.

Thanks so much everyone for such positive feedback on the images.
I indeed felt very fortunate to have been able to see and photography the servals. In Nairobi National Park, I watched the mother serval hunt a rat, trot quite a long way to take it to her kittens, then give it to her kittens to play with. Then in the Maasai Mara, I saw two kittens, and then one more serval in the Serengeti. To be honest, these are cats that I thought that I would never see in my life, so this many of them was something very special.
On the number of images, I am not sure how many I have, but in terms of size ended up with 2 TB of images. A lot of that was because I was not very measured in using continuous shooting during the first part of the trip, but did a lot better at it during the latter half. Definitely, a learning process in regards to that. There are many more to sort through, so I hope to do another post here at some point with more of them.
