p.1 #1 · Z6II - Focus Peaking working only with AF lenses
I have been trying to shoot some MF lenses on the Z6II but never either try too hard nor any satisfactory result, today I attached a 100/2 on the Z8 and even fully open the focus peaking worked a charme, am I doing something wrong on the younger cousin or is the bigger one any different?
Grazie
edit:
I tried with an adapted Contax lens, on the Z8 focus peaking works great, on the Z6II no matter how I set it up no way to make it work, I adapted an old Nikkor MF lens through the FTZII and still no peaking, what the issue might ever be?
With a native Z lens if I switch off the AF on the lens Focus Peaking shows in all of its glory
p.s. I have AF on the back button, I try to hold AF button to trigger focus peaking and also the shutter half pressed but nothing happens

I think no one has commented here because no one has any idea what could be wrong. The Z6 should show focus peaking in exactly the same way your Z8 does.
One control that you may have missed is “Peaking Level” in the Custom Setting Menu under Shooting/Display. This can be set to off, so maybe this is the cause?
Other than that, there must be something wrong with the camera and I would take it in to Nikon to be looked at.

Ciao Naddie,
I got bored and frustrated so I did a reset of the Z6II and today it all seems to work pretty well, of course through the VF the Z6II lags behind the Z8 which is much easier to focus, now I will have to re enter all the settings I use on the camera and hopefully won't screw it again :-)
