On my compact C bodies I like to have a thumb grip to take advantage of and help grip the camera body. Both JCC and Haoge make them for the A7CR and A7CII but they are different. The JCC thumb rest is a little taller a flatter than the Hoage. If any one is using these is there a preference? I forget who made the ones I used to use and liked on my Fuji bodies like the X-E3.
Both obviously take up the hot shoe slot and take away the potential use of the eyecup adapter that can use that slot as well. This is not an issue on the A6700 if you want to use one since the camera body is designed to have an eyecup.

I can't comment on the two you are looking at, but I just got this Smallrig one that has a cold shoe mount built in so you can use a video light or something else in addition to the thumbgrip: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DFMH28C9
I also grabbed their baseplate with the extended handle. I love my A7CII ergonomics now but feel a little silly about the amount of weight and accessories. Maybe I should have just gotten a full-sized camera...

Thank you for the link to these two products. Didn’t realize SmallRig made these two products. I use a lot of SmallRig’s base plates and L brackets and I’ve been very happy with them. Will give these both a try.

I used the Haoge thumb rest for the whole summer, and because the end of it sticks out farther, it was easy to hold the camera any which way.
I just switched to the JJC thumb rest to try it out, I find it less obtrusive and just as comfortable, but in different ways. It sticks up, not out, so my grip is slightly altered. Not as easy to have the body dangling from my hand, I have to rest it against my chest. It offers easier access to the Menu and C1 buttons, and I can press the shutter button with my thumb.
If you like to hold your camera with your arm down at your side, the Haoge is easier to keep an overall firm grip on the camera. But if you hold your camera against your chest, and want to operate the camera a little faster, the JJC is the ticket.
