The Indiegogo campaign is live. The early-bird price is $69, instead of the $99 full price. I've never backed any Kickstarter or Indiegogo campaign, seems like a recipe for disappointment. But I went for it. For $69 it's worth a shot. Lens ships in October.

Nice, thanks for letting us know. I just bought one as well. It came out to something like $85 but I assume that's due to taxes.
Sonyalpharumors already published a review (and then hid it a couple of hours later). Some guy read it and said the lens supposedly has excellent sharpness at least in the center of the frame. Colors and rendering was apparently pretty good too.
Edit: The additional charge was a $17 "tip" to Indigogo that I wasn't aware of. Be careful.
I added my name to the Indiegogo, but I do wish they'd added an aperture system and filter threads. I'd have happily compromised a few mm's for those "innovations"!

Not constant at all.
There's a Canon RF 28mm f/2.8 stm that should fit on A7C/A7CII/A7R bodies. It's more expensive, but you'll get an aperture mechanism.

How would it fit? Is there an RF to E mount adapter now?
I was refunded as well. I think they jumped the gun on making the link active. Sounds like it was supposed to go live on September 26th. Not a good look for Viltrox. Really hope they move forward with the campaign.
Review by Richard Wong, who does very thorough reviews. Looks like Viltrox is moving ahead with the campaign. Wish it was a 40mm instead of 28mm, but I'll take it.

Thanks for the video link. I thought I read somewhere a couple of weeks ago that it would have a working aperture, but Richard clearly states in the video that it is fixed at f4.5.
I already have the Samyang 35/2.8 for when I want to have a small and light, but still decent lens on my A7CII so maybe I'll skip this one.
Yeah, it's definitely a fixed f4.5 aperture. There was also a written review on SonyAlphaBlog (now taken down) that mentioned the fixed aperture. From what I read earlier today, he was positive about the lens. Sharpness is excellent in the center, very good in the borders, and just good in the corners. I find that more than acceptable considering the size and cost. Just wish the FOV was a little tighter, like 35mm or better yet 40mm.
