Guess that M mount isn't coming after all
I hope that's not the case but after such a long time since the release of the M42 version, you might be right. Would be such a shame though as I really want a rangefinder-coupled version of this lens!
Weird that they did the Trioplan in M mount when there aren't even 100mm frame lines on any M camera, whereas 75mm is pretty standard

Their Trioplan 'replica' works flawlessly with the Leica M rangefinder...so much so that I ended up selling my original Trioplan and kept the TTArtisan instead. Maybe they ran into some challenges with this one, but from the beginning, they were advertising that an M-mount version would eventually be released.
I reached out to my contact at TTA, here is the response.
Hi Scott, thanks for asking. We previously planned to release an M mount version of the 75mm f/1.5, but we've decided not to move forward with it. There are no plans for an M mount version at the moment.

Well, shit.
Thanks for reaching out to them, at least we have clarity now. Guess it'll have to be the M42 version then..

Got my M42 copy today. First impressions:
- build quality is really nice!
- optics looking good with that nice Biotar rendering
- ergonomics are not great though - heavy and esp. front heavy when adapting the M42 version
I'm using an M42 - M mount adapter which can be 6bit coded. Than stacking this one with the TTartisan 6bit adapter for Z mount on the Nikon Zf. Looks a bit odd, but works quite well with the Zf's MF assist tools.
I might have to pick up a Pentax film SLR to put this on. Still have a Pentax 50mm f1.7 somewhere, so almost a system at this point
This is definitely a heavy - and front heavy - lens which may have played a role in the decision to not make an M mount version available. With an L-mount adapter, it's 1 1/2 pounds which makes the lens feel more comfortable when used on something like an SL or larger mirrorless option with grip.
I might try the Meyer-Optik Gorlitz Biotar 75mm f/1.5 II Lens (Leica M) when again available, but that said I have enough 75mm f1.4 and 1.5 lenses. Then there is the Thypoch I just remembered.

I do not believe this lens is rangefinder-coupled, in case that is important to you.
People who got this lens: do yourself a favor and get an M42 or K-mount SLR to use it on.
I’ve now used it a couple of times on the Pentax and damn.. just looking at what this lens produces on a ground glass is amazing.
Haven’t gotten my film back yet so maybe missed focus on every shot but it would’ve been worth it just for the experience 😅

Nice! Looking forward to more images from you. We need to convince more people to pick up this lens so that they also remake the 58mm Biotar! 😅
One thing's for sure, the images it produces have a very distinct look. There’s plenty of swirl (optical vignetting), bokeh outlining, and CA, but it’s more corrected for spherical aberration than I expected.

I was a bit surprised by the CA in your sample, as I hadn’t noticed that on my copy. But probably just a matter of not having shot in as contrasty light yet.
Shot two rolls of fall color on Portra 160 with this lens yesterday, can’t wait to see the results! (will shoot some more film this week and then drop it all off at once, so will be a while before I see the images..)
