None can really answer as it’s not yet available. It will for sure have better AF on Sony bodies, be smaller, much lighter. Now, 85 is no 105, especially at f1.4. The magic of the 105f1.4 will probably not be encountered in photos taken with the new GM.
Yeah, it's really all about the focal length and what arises from that. The 105 is great at what it does - downsides are it's big, it has merely-goodish focussing (fine for portraiture)... and when those two things aren't a problem, the question of which you would prefer is all about the focal length. People who choose the 105 do so because they need maximum background defocus, because it renders heads with less distortion for close-up shots, and because it in general provides more compression, and the most telephoto-style look that's still within a comfortably short-ish working distance from the subject. Everything longer starts to get a little distant and less practical (though I myself don't mind that - I actually prefer to shoot long, I like the resulting look more).
A theoretical 85mm f/1.2 would still have a smaller absolute aperture than the 105 f/1.4 (70mm rather than 75mm). The 105 is basically... the most you can get, of everything, prior to the working distance to the model becoming potentially unmanageable.
