p.1 #1 · Wings of Fancy Gone By

The annual summer "Wings of Fancy" sponsored by my local Brookside Gardens and Conservatory was cancelled when covid started in 2019.
They have not brought it back! It was an event for "photographers only" early in the morning and you could bring all the equipment/tripods..whatever and only 5 photographers at a time. A fee was charged and I was more than happy to oblige! Hundreds of varieties! Enjoy! I will try to not overwhelm you with "picture heavy" posts.

Those painted ladies are so nice Dan! They are usually a little beat up by the time I find one to shoot. And that mournful owl is captivating. Really like your processing, you get the contrast just right where everything pops but nothing is over blown.

Actually I did very little pp on these Eric! I used only macro lenses and fill flash when warranted.

It is a VERY fun event Morris! No vying for a spot to shoot, no elbowing fellow photographers for position..

I loved this yearly event!

I have tons of images from all the shows. It was open to the public 7 days a week from 10-6 but from 8-10am on Sat/Su..photographers only!

Very sad that covid shut them down!

They are not baiting Douglas! This is 0800am and most butterflies are still in a "sleeping" mode from the AC in the Conservatory. They put out plates of fruit to get sugar into the butterflies system and get them up and flying around! There are so many and the space is like a greenshouse so they are everywher and plentiful!

Thanks "f4e"! I talked to the management yesterday again and there is no plans to bring it back! They still fear CV19 will strike back and the space is confined.
