Thanks for the information. I was thinking the same thing after seeing their current trends. Now that they've released so many lenses with the same focal length, I suppose they'll prioritize lenses that are "more appealing and distinctive."
Thank you for sharing your experience using it. I see, it seems that this M-mount lens can't perform at 100% with the Sony-E sensor. I'll consider a Sony-G f/2.4 lens instead.
I have really grown to enjoy this little gem. It kind of gets buried with all the other 50mm options. There are few special qualities to the 50 f2.2. On M11, the color comes out very natural. It usually looks great SOC. The rending has a very organic feel to it. Back ground is very smooth. It can’t do f1.4 like 50 Lux but at f2, I really can’t say which I like better. Most importantly, It’s so small with M11, I carry it in a small Jordan crossbody camera bag to take with me everywhere.
For my daughter’s ballet performance this past weekend, I wouldn’t usually bring a dedicated camera for it. But I had the 50 f2.2 on the M11. All I did is apply default color profile in LR and hit auto adjust.
