Ahh, my Canon Sure Shot Ace. Bought because you had a built in waist level finder (with prism so it showed things in the correct orientation!).
Yesterday you showed signs of distress when you rewound a roll of 36 exp Lomo 800 after maybe 22 shots were taken.
Today you rewound a 36 exp roll of TriX after 15 shots.
You, my $12 ebay friend, are being put out to pasture...
Oh yes we had some good times in the 10 rolls we shot ($1.20 of camera per roll). And maybe my favourite pic I ever took of a cleaning van and electricity pylons:
All is not lost- - I salvaged both rolls of film and will shoot the rest in other cameras. And I just ordered a $16 Yashica TwinTec AF which was my second choice when I first looked for cameras w/ WLFs that were cheap. I will report back if it is a steaming pile..
But for now, adieu my sweet, plasticky, cheapo feeling and apparently not built to be used a lot Canon. We captured some memories, but sadly not enough. I will see you again in Hipster Heaven. But hopefully not too soon.

Lo, there do I see my Praktica
Lo, there do I see my Pentax,
and my Canons, and my Fujifilms
Lo, there do I see the line of my cameras, back to the beginning
Lo they do call to me
They bid me take my place among them
In the halls of Kodak
Where the brave may live forever!

That's the thing, none of these P&S cameras were built for serious use. More for the Christmas on one end, summer snaps in the middle, following Christmas on the other end of a 36 exp roll of film..

Quick summary of the Yashica: It's crap.
More detailed summary:
The WLF is miserable to use compared to the Canon SSA.
The twin lens thing? The lens is only decent at 33mm. At 50 it seems really to be hit or miss - focus and sharpness,
AF is terrible - almost 1/2 of the pics missed.
The flash seems to fire almost all the time unless you are in bright sunlight. Stooopid.
The End. I am going to sell it on craigslist and tie it into the Yashica T3/4 connection - but way cheaper.

And it came back from the dead....
I was fiddling with it, opened the back and rotated the film take up spool in the film advancing direction. I figured maybe it just needed some exercise, to be freed up so to speak.
Loaded it with a roll of HP5. Shot all 37 exposures with no issues.

In my long-ago days working at a camera store, I distinctly remember when we got an Ace out of the box to put on display and said "Who in the world would ever use this WLF?" So I'm glad to know someone did/does.
(As opposed to the Owl, to which we all said "Our mom would love this oversize viewfinder")
