buddy, thank you so much for the kind words.
I love working with the TSE lenses, they make you slow down and enjoy the process.
I think you will enjoy that lens immensely.
They should add a "macro" moniker the the lens "title".
Beautiful rendering here! Bokeh is stunning!
Dan
This is an interesting point. This not a macro lens. The native magnification is 0.2x, or close to 0.16x in full-frame equivalents. However, if cropped by a factor of 2, to give a 20MP crop, then, the effective magnification in the crop becomes 0.32x, that is a decent magnification that can be useful. It is the MFD of 2.7m that can be considered too long for a macro or semi-macro use. This can be inconvenient in practice. Nevertheless, the possibility is there. I have the micro-four-thirds macro lens M.Zuiko 90mm f/3.5 Macro IS PRO on a 20MP body and from that experience, I think that having 20MP is not a problem for macro.
On a more general note, having 100MP in a sensor opens up some interesting possibilities for creative use of lenses for the GFX100 bodies. I stared appreciating this only recently.
The more time I spend with this new to me camera, the more impressed I feel by what it can deliver (I must have stared sounding like an influencer, I am afraid).

How is it to handle? My 500MM Canon is a beast! I am 79" and have hand tremors.....OIS is excellent on the Fuji GF100s ii.
The price is not outrageous either for 500mm OIS....
More please!

Dan, everything is relative. To explain, I should make another reference to my micro-four-thirds kit. When I bought the M.Zuiko 300mm F4 lens, I thought that this gave me the lightest and most compact full-frame equivalent 600mm lens (although, with the effective F8 aperture, in full-frame terms) on the body (OM-1 II) that has the best IBIS. I could shoot, if needed, with SS like 1/30s, or maybe with some effort even as slow as 1/15s.
Now, this recent experience with the GF500MM F5.6 makes me re-think what I thought.
First, the total working weight of the GFX100S II & GF500MM (without lens hood and the tripod leg) is not dramatically different, 2260 g vs 1870 g for the MFT system. Yet the lens is so well balanced on the body that it almost feel lighter. Now, regarding the image stabilization, surprisingly I found that I could shoot the GFX with the GF500MM with SS as slow as 1/30s. In practice, this is rarely needed, as even the pirched birds I would want to shoot with SS 1/500s. However, the point here is that the image stabilization of the GF500MM lens on my GFX100S II body can be described only in superlative terms - the view through the viewfinder is stable, smooth and natural. The center of gravity in the system is close to the body, so that my left hand is supporting the front of the lens by the touch of the fingers from the bottom of the lens. It is also easy to reach and shift the focusing ring if necessary.
I am sure I sound like exaggerating the image stability and the ease of handing, but relative to full-frame telephoto lenses, the GF500mm F5.6 lens stands out as exceptional.
And you are right about what it costs is also unusual between telephoto prime lenses.

I have been playing with the GF500mm F5.6 lens that I have on loan from Fujifilm Canada.
One of the questions I am interested in is whether the lens can be used as a digital zoom on my GFX100S II,
covering the range: 400mm (102MP) - 500mm (63MP) - 600mm (44MP) - 700mm (32MP) - 800mm(20MP)
Here are two examples at the effective 570mm and 700mm.
This is too technical for me.......if I was younger, love it and I would have asked myself those questions also, but as a viewer here, the lens looks better than "fine". The rendering is superb!

Some technical notes:

composed in-camera at 63mm effective FOV, 5x4 crop
Bleach Bypass film sim.

After a false start with a used 50R, I ended up with the 50S after long time away from the GFX (excluding the RF). Love the cube shape of the 50S + GF 50 combo.

Was hoping to do the Falls Trail at Ricketts Glen State Park today, forecast looked good until maybe Thursday. Kept trending to more steady rain. Went up anyway as the radar this morning gave a glimmer of hope, but it wasn't meant to be. Hit Adams Falls though before I left, there was a little lull in the rain.

I too have found this to be the case with my 100s ii IBIS or lens OIS.
Shooting at 1/30 with any Fuji GF lens I have is steady as a rock!

Thanks! No, this is tripod mounted. I usually hold the shutter open a bit longer but there was good water flow and I was fighting pesky little gusts of wind.
