Unexpected turn of events and surprise response. I was all setup on tripod taking pictures of Running Eagle Falls(Trick Falls) in Glacier National Park. Referred to Trick Falls as you can see the Falls coming out of the middle of the rock and a slow trickle from the top of the rock. When there is enough water flowing it comes from both places.

The unexpected turn was this fisherman, waded from behind the bush behind me in front of the tripod looked back at me the and didn't say a word proceeded into the scene. First thought was a little frustration he was walking in front of my shot then my mind set changed. I have been photographing here for years and it was the first time I had a fly fisherman (in fact anyone) in the water in front of the falls. In the end I decided this was an opportunity and never said anything to the person when he initially waded in front of me.

Just got back from a 2,500 miles roadtrip from S. California up the coast to Oregon and back. This is the first time using the GFX 100 RF in the field. I brought a Lumix S1R II with the new 24-60mm and Sigma 150-600mm but ended up using the RF 100% of the time. Here are a few from the 1750+ photos.

Yeah, without the framing, they take up the vertical space of 5 regular photos My other tactic is just doing a triptych or more side by side in one image.

Again it is indeed a fine image!

I edited the post and changed it to gray. But without a frame to contain it, vertical X-Pan ratio attachments on this site display like skyscrapers, and you can't see the entire image all at once unless you click on it:

Good point! I do like this much better. I would think you could re-size to fit a natural sized viewing frame. My eyes now look normal, not like that great actor,Marty Feldman! I don't say that with any disrespect to Mr Feldman.

While I love the Fuji GFX system, the one area I am disappointed in is shooting sunset with the sun. The Native lenses I have including the 23/4, 45/2.8 and 32-64/4 do not give good sunstars like my M-mount Zeiss and Voigtlanders. Further, shooting into the sun results in flairs that do nothing for the composition. Even when the sun is just below the horizon, the gradation of colors is not always smooth like in these images. I shoot enough other stuff but it sometimes makes me think I might have gone with a Leica SL3 or Hasselblad.

You probably know this already Bob, but there are some nice YT videos on how to "create" a sun star in an image. Yes it is NOT what one wants BUT........
