Love the square one! For the pano crop, do you think it could have been shot wider? In your previous post, the pano is my favorite.
Finally got a chance to work up one of the wider captures of these silos -- I don't think it works quite as well as the one I posted, but here you go -- oh, this one is a neutral B&W with no toning:

Thanks for doing that! I think the new framing has some interesting qualities. Slight edge to the last one from me, but I see what is working better in the first one as well.

Nice, saw you were in the Rockies. Was that Estes you were/are in?
Yep! Base camped out of Estes and spent a few days in the park and actually piddled around the city for once since it was a family trip. One of our favorite places to get out to, especially when Texas is boiling like it is now.
This was the first time getting the GFX into the field. Was really looking forward to see what I came back with.

It’s actually growing on me too — in particular the corn row line. Good call 👍

Very lovely image!
Were you on a tripod or did the IBIS get you to 1/8th sec at 200mm? And why did you go all the way to f22 with the diffraction hit to the fine detail? Whyever you did it, it worked beautifully. I would just like to understand your thinking and technique. Was the diffraction hit to detail plus the deep depth of field part of what made the photo work so well, giving it a slight softness even though everything is in focus?

Thank you! I was shooting close and needed enough depth of field to cover the full depth of both trees. Diffraction is never a problem for me because I use a deconvolution sharpening algorithm in post which nicely recovers foundational detail. I was on a tripod. The softness apparent here is partly due to posting a small compressed jpeg, partly due to the distant background being out of focus, and partly due to GFX100S slightly missing the precise focus area I wanted. I have it on my wall on 17 x 22 Canson fine art matte paper and it works well at that size.

Only two more months until I enter the teen phase, however based on her and her twin brother's day to changes I'm thinking that timeline is fluid. At least if she wants a friend to sleep over she has to let me test the new camera.
100s II with 50 3.5. Still on the fence on this one. It's actually sitting in its box on the dining room table with my a7rV whispering take it back you don't need that big ol' thing. Look how svelte and autofocus-y I am...

I'm trying to get better at mono conversions (have gotten some positive feedback on the Landscape forum lately for them), curious to hear any thoughts here. 100S + 32-64.

I don't mind it but the B&W definitely accentuates what ever was done in post to the trees in back, making it a bit of a distraction. It's the thing my eyes are drawn to the most. RoamingScott wrote:
