The little SL2 was one of the most satisfying cameras to use I have owned. It and the EF-S 15-85mm lens are the only two pieces of EF gear I regret selling.
I have similar feelings about the SL1. I "upgraded" to an M6II, and after, an R10, both of which I sold on rather quickly.
I still have a few EF-S lenses... Maybe I should get an SL2, haha. You can get some of these models for next to nothing now.

Nice, 15fps is good enough. Will it give you the 40fps in ES mode too? Yeah I agree start a separate thread on it when you have time. Thanks for the info, I like the size of that little thing. If time permits, see if you can shoot some action with it, like a dog running at you around 2.0-2.2.

I could have written your post
I too have the RP, I know it’s the budget R but personally I think it’s great. I have a few RF lenses now including the 24-105mm 7.1
Optically I think it’s fine, have no issues at all. It’s quiet and IS is brilliant….but that ridiculous 7.1 !!!!
Needless to say, mine never sees use. I’d rather use the older EF 24-105mmf4L, but never do as it’s too heavy on the RP
So I tend to just make do with the humble RF 50/1.8
Most times it’s not wide enough, other times it’s not long enough, sometimes I wish it had IS
In short it’s far from perfect. But on the RP it makes for a very light, compact full frame. That alone is what I value the most. I hate lugging gear these days, utterly hate it…so don’t.
I think canons new lens line up is just awful
Expensive slow consumer tat
Or crazy expensive big heavy L stuff
Just bloody horrible
Some people wear their cameras like male jewellery, love to pose and be ‘seen’….
