Thanks to your 1st comment. I think this early May is the best time to be there due to much less people.
spacious parking lot and less traffic road condition - comfortable and pleasant travel period

The Rat:
Thanks to your comment and kind words.
Thanks your sharing many impressive images at FM.
Northern view (Mt. Leconte 2009m) from Clingmans Dome observatory
Jung, glad you got out and enjoyed one of the great views in the East! I like the layers of ridges in that first shot. It could be fun to crop that as a pano (come up from bottom to eliminate the piece of road) and convert to black & white, to enhance the graphic pattern. Just an idea, but pretty scene as is 👍🏼
Hi, Rose Martin:
I am very thankful to your comment and your great fine art photography that has been displayed at FM in great awe and praise from many pros. I am an amateur and do not expect as you mentioned due to lack of capability in photo editing. I just shoot and take it home and simple and cheap photo editing (5 min or less) using Luminar Neo.
Image: southeastern view
Mt. Pisgah - left dim 1744mm near center under center cloud
and the highest in the Blue Ridge Parkway Richard Balsam 1950m - right high peak
Cold Mountain -center dim 1840m
Beside Richard Balam, Mt. Tennant 1843m
after BW editing, I feel that I may need to learn a lot of this area.

Great shots and awesome location to visit, that walk to the top is breath taking if the scenery doesnt do it. It looks like some of the fir trees have recovered since I was last there.
Brasstown Bald (my favorite high point) and Sassafras Mountain are good ones to visit as well if havent already.
Hi WSBrown:
I never been Brasstown Bald (my favorite high point) that is far from my location, but I have visited to Table Rock State Park. Sassafras Mountain is 9+ mile away from Table Rock peak and we have no chance to go up there due to wife's weakness.
Instead of those places, we usually visit Blue Ridge Parkway due to health issue of wife.

Here is a view from Ben Morton Overlook (a few miles away from Newfound Gap -TN side) on the way toward Clingmans Dome (1st) and Newfound Gap (NC side view)

That is a great view as well.
I have visited Table Rock as well, beautiful area.
Brasstown has a shuttle bus that takes you up to the peak with a tower and museum at the top. On a clear day you can see Atlanta's skyline 90 miles away as the crow flies.
Hi wsbrown
I hope I will be there in the near future. Thanks to your sharing the information.
