Alpineglow app showed 70% chance of good sky colors at Huntington Beach. Hence, I decided to chase the sunset at Huntington Beach one Sunday evening. But traffic snarled my plans, making it impossible to reach the coast in time. Not wanting to miss the show entirely, I detoured to Newport Beach. There, fortune smiled upon me – I snagged a parking spot right by the pier just as the sky exploded with color. Witnessing the transformation, from the fiery embrace of the setting sun to the soft pink hues, was truly breathtaking. Here are three shots capturing this unexpected sky colors.
Thanks for viewing and welcome all CC
Edits: Fixed horizon line. Thanks for pointing it out.
Newport Beach - upon arrival at sunset
Newport Beach - beautiful pink glow past sunset
Newport Beach - at blue hour just when thick clouds had rolled in
Thank you. For once the app proved to be awsome!

Except for the strongly tilted horizon, the first is my favorite.
Thanks for pointing that out. I fixed it and uploaded corrected version.

For some reason, HB has always been my go to place for photos. But the traffic on 55 & 405 interchange forced me to go south on 55. I guess luck was on my side. Glad you like them.

These colours are crazy. Good catch.
Yes, the colors were crazy good. I remember doing a facetime call with my wife and son as the scene was unreal. I see you are in Paris. I just returned from a 2 week trip for Olympics. Had a great time.
