On August 8, 1975 The Eagles headlined a concert at what was then Rich Stadium in Buffalo, NY. Along with Dan Fogelberg and Seals and Crofts was 36 yr old Judy Collins. I was seated on the ground with my Pentax Spotmatic and a Soligor 400mm 6.3. I was 19 yrs old, pretty much penniless, so I probably only had one roll of film. I have very few pics but this was one of my favorites. Her expression seemed to capture the mood of the day for me.

A Most excellent capture Gary! Iconic!.....These icons are being lost at too rapid a rate today..Dickie Betts@Allman Bros.Jim Beard, longtime keyboardist for Steely Dan, Steve Lawrence,Eric Carmen...... This is what makes me feel really old Gary!
Thanks for the memories!

Amazing memory and a shot that captures it! A classic "decisive moment": Must have been tough to nail the focus with the 400/6.3.
It was always hit and mostly miss

Thanks Dan. Kinda makes you feel like you're just waiting in line doesn't it ?
Cool photo and story, and of course, those chunky Grover Rotomatics.
Right about the same time - August of '75, I shot hand held photos on the football field of Monterey Peninsula College of one of Judy's contemporaries, and one of my faves, Joan Baez, where part of that show, which was doubly long because Hoyt Axton's bus broke down, became part of Joan's live double album, From Every Stage. I recently re-purchased that record and boy oh boy is it horrible.

Nice one.
Young and penniless ... I can relate.
Nikon FE
Tamron 300/5.6 and Vivitar 2X
One roll / week ... had to be really special stuff for a 2nd roll.
