Thank you Karl,
We planned the trip to Texas a year ago choosing to go to the desert for the best chance to see the eclipse. Imagine waking the morning of the eclipse to fog! The forecast was for clearing and we set up and waited and we had thin clouds for totality and heaver clouds for the starting partial phases so no eclipse glasses were needed as we could just make it out. An amazing experience.
Very nicely done Morris! Glad you made it down to Texas for the eclipse even if you had to deal with the high clouds and heat. This is almost exactly as the eclipse appeared for us in the Hill Country west of the Austin area. Had we stayed home instead of going to be with family, we would have had clear skies, but that is the way it goes.
It was an unforgettable experience either way and so much fun to share with the family.
