I'm offering for sale a beautiful Leica M2 Button Rewind that has been repainted in Lacquer Black Paint, resembling the look of the Leica MP. This repaint was skillfully executed by Mr. T's Leica workshop in Vietnam.
The original silver chrome coating was removed before applying the new black lacquer. As the camera gets used a lot, it will start to develop a patina look, showing some brassing. Right now, there's not much brassing visible.
Rest assured, the camera underwent a comprehensive CLA (cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment) during the painting process, so it's in excellent working condition. The shutter speeds have been fully adjusted, and the viewfinder remains clean with bright frame lines.
To ensure the camera is in top-notch condition, Don at DAG performed a second CLA and conducted a full rangefinder adjustment and viewfinder overhaul. This has resulted in the best M2 experience I've encountered so far. I've personally shot 4 rolls of film with it, and there's been no film scratching, confirming the camera's 100% functionality.
**It is also equipped with the film loading mechanism of the Leica M6. Super easy to load film on this camera.
