I really love this lens! I usually reach for this lens over my 400GM and 600GM, mainly for the portability and versatility. I have no complaints about IQ or AF relative to the 400GM and 600GM, given that it costs a fraction of what the supertelephoto primes cost. I debated quite a bit with myself over whether I should take the 400GM or the 200-600 on a recent trip to Africa, and I am certainly glad that I opted to take the zoom. I shot 90% of my images with it during the trip, and it didn't let me down!

Great image, Mitesh and yes, I shared your opinion on this lens.

I've been alternating between the 200-600G and the Canon RF 200-800, and it's difficult to choose one over the other. The Sony handles much better, but the extra reach of the Canon is nice to have.

I have often said the 200-600 is Sony’s best value for money lens and I had a lot of great use from mine. I have also made the move to a 300mm+TCs.
If I was only carrying one body and one lens then the 200-600 would definitely be my choice but when I am doing a wildlife trip I always take two bodies and think my pairing of 70-200GMii plus 300GM and the TCs gives me a lot of options from low light to long reach and all in a comparatively small and lightweight kit.
I would still be interested in other future telephoto offerings from Sony but for now I think it’s a good setup for my usage.
