I had some holidays due that I had to take so I packed the van and headed off to the North East Coast of Scotland around Aberdeenshire and Moray for three days. Stopped of at Rattray Head lighthouse and beach, Dunnottar Castle and the Bow Fiddle Rock in the fishing village of Portknockie. The weather was not what I was hoping for but I did the best I could with what was available. The last photo in this post was the final image taken of the tour as my trusty companion, Dave the dog, knocked over my tripod and smashed my filter holder, three filters and knackered both camera and lens. I can't be mad at him, he is a spaniel and just doesn't know any better

The third has a wild surreal feel to it. Great stuff.
I love the simplicity of that shot. It wasn't what I intended when I first went out but very happy with the outcome.

I'm really liking these Ken. Coincidentally, we were just discussing making a first trip to Scotland at dinner this evening.
You should stop discussing and get planning. I know I may be biased as a Scotsman, but Scotland does have some of the most amazing scenery. The weather can be erratic to say the least but you can't have everything.

I LOVE the last shot light!
That's the last shot of the trip before Dave toppled the tripod and broke the camera, but it was worth it........at least that's what I'm telling myself.

Number six, screams Scotland to me, Ken, thanks for posting!
Douglas
Thanks Douglas. Dunnottar Castle is an amazing spot to photograph and the weather doesn't really matter either as it looks amazing in all sorts.

Ken, each image here is lovely. You captured wonderful moods. Hope your camera survived the crash!
Thanks Ross, much appreciated. The three locations are amazing to photograph, it’s almost impossible to create a bad image. The camera body is off to be assessed and the filter system has to be replaced but the lens seems to have survived. Bad timing, as I’m off to Wales for 2 weeks and now don’t have a camera!!!

I really like the simplicity and serenity here - there aren't any extraneous and distracting element. Great job!
Thanks for the comment Craig. I do try and keep things simple if I can and these three locations lend themselves perfectly to this. Thanks again, much appreciated.
