The Bluebirds are back and getting quite action in their nest building. Spent a full day last week shooting them from within my truck, which seems to be an adequate blind for shooting them.
From now moving forward the interactions between the Western Bluebirds and Mountain Bluebirds will increase. The fighting for a nest can and does become quite fierce between the two different birds. What appears to be fighting between a male and female Western Bluebirds, in some of my shots, I take to be a mating ritual. As soon as the interaction between the two birds was over, 20 seconds, they were both back up on a sage brush branch sitting beside one another.

Great action images Louie, liked the last one best but all are terrific. Have to go upcountry and see if our bluebirds are back yet. We have had a few mountain bluebirds seen locally.
Knockouts buddy, these are exceptional captures and elegant presentations. Color and details are spot on, really captured several unique moments. Super job and #3 should be hanging really large somewhere in your home!!
