A local rental studio that I patron somewhat often recently invited their regular patrons to come hang out for a day. It was sort of a casual potluck sort of thing. Surprisingly only six of us showed up, but we were given the freedom of using the space and equipment to take some photos while we were there if we wanted. I love being able to do this because there's no expectation regarding images, we can have fun and be creative, and I get a chance to try modifiers and light setups that I typically don't use. I was also able to reconnect with an old friend and made new ones as well.
Anyways, here are some of the photos so far. All were shot using a Canon 5D MKIII with a Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 lens:

OUTSTANDING!

Thank you so much Dan. I love these kind of shoots where I get to experiment and try new things with lighting. I'm glad that it seems to have been a success.
Oh, I love to see good studio work -- and great black-and-whites. So nicely done. Lit perfectly! Fun to be able to use that space with no pressure. Great opportunity.

Excellent work Daniel. Just had company headshots done by a local photog here in WA and his sloppy, unprofessional work just makes me appreciate your skill that much more

Peace,
Greg
Thanks Greg!
Though my profile says I live in Portland Oregon, I actually live 20 minutes North from Portland in Vancouver Washington and would be happy to do your company headshots next time!

Excellent work! I wish I had access to a studio. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you.
Are there no rental studios in your general area? Besides rental studios, I also make use of a small corner of my bedroom and use it for portraits and headshots. Neewer and Godox both offer great flash units and modifiers for very affordable prices, so you can always make your own studio.

Thanks Daniel. I would have done it for them if they had asked, but they already entered into a contract with the Aberdeen local. I knew when I walked into the room and saw a ring light and a couple of led panels behind the seat lighting the wrinkled background, that I would be disappointed in the results.
