These are reportedly better quality than the pro lenses recently released (27mm F1.2 and 75mm F1.2). Allegedly, "The LAB series will be something like the Otus line at Zeiss." If that is the case, these could be winners. If only they can keep the weight down.

More options are better, but I do sigh that we get another set of primes that largely overlap the existing options (on both E and Z, even). I wonder why filling niches isn't a more appealing business? Maybe a large Chinese market?

Samyang released 35-150 after the Tamron 35-150.
Samyang also released 135 1.8 when, in Sony case, Sigma 135 1.8 and Sony 135 1.8 were available and Samyang only has Sony market to sell to (for the 135)
I'd say they have a good idea what will sell.
While the 35-150 is a new range, most are not.
Possible that they know their lenses are good enough to easily get positive reviews. Therefore releasing lenses similar to existing, more expensive lenses, results in direct comparisons by reviewers. ie, free marketing.

But wait there's more! Meike has announced the development of 24, 35 and 50mm lenses, all f/1.4. That in addition to the already released 85/1.4.
The Chinese manufacturers are on a roll.
