Loved the shots of the geese. I was up one morning before dawn at a local pond trying to get some shots like these but just as I was getting everything set up some guy driving past the pond honked his horn VOILA lots of noise and no geese.
Havent given up on getting some shots yet as I am looking at a teleconverter which will let me be a goodly distance with hopefully no car horns!

Well I just try to keep plugging away at it as there are so many variables. And perhaps that is one of the cool parts, since so many things can get thrown at you (snow, rain, sun, clouds, …) and some times luck helps too.
Wes, nice work, they are very sharp and detailed. I like your work! Try and get a little closer, the TC will help you out a lot, but good positioning is key!
This is a lovely goose, unfortunately their numbers in Charlotte has got them classified as pests and many measures are being explored to get rid of them.

I live in the Chicago area, and in some places they can be numerous. I've heard where golf courses would use dogs to chase them away.
