The Short-eared Owls have been very action over the past few weeks. For those willing to stand out in sub-freezing weather, the SEOs and Harriers have given them a pretty good show.
SEOs are masters at arial maneuvers, they can turn on a dime and when two of them are chasing one another the action is fast and only lasts for a few seconds.
A few days ago, I caught some fast action when one SEO came down and got a vole and within seconds another owl was fast on its tail. The arial action lasted only a few seconds, the vole was finally dropped and one of the owls was down on it, with the other owl flying off.

Louie these are such beautiful images of one of my favorite owls, not easy as they are so quick. Love the clean backgrounds that make the subjects pop, and as all your work tack sharp.
You've set the bar very high with these incredible action shots! Wow you got gifted and you wrapped them up to perfection, sweeeeet and YGMV as well. Great work on the action of the pairs in battle for the food, that is a privilege to see. I am impressed and enjoying each image

Beautiful sequence, Louie! All of them are outstanding, and the blue sky is beautiful, yet I am really drawn to the composition with the background in the last image.
