Never going to part with mine, it's the best 24/25mm landscape lens I've ever used.
Do you still feel the same way after getting the 28mm apo?
Trying to think of filling some gaps in the slightly wider range before some trips.
Probably bringing the fm2n film + a 35mm f2. And for digital I only want to bring 3 pretty small lenses for the a7cii to choose 2 from each day. I will take the 35mm 1.4 distagon and a 50mm nokton or 55mm f1.8 zeiss.
So I'm jumping between the loxia 21, 25 and cv 28apo. Voigt 21/1.4 might be a bit big for my use case and I don't think I need it to go that wide open.
Was leaning towards the 25mm loxia when taking the 50mm nokton/zeiss 55. I'd probably get more use out of it than the 21mm. But maybe instead of the loxia 25mm, the apo 28mm.. I think the loxia 25mm is a 26mm anyway but perhaps that's still helpful. Won't be quite as sharp as the 28 apo but not the end of the world. Not sure on colours.
Otherwise I could get the loxia 21mm and crop to 25? But I don't hear many people saying they do that.
I recently bought a new one off Amazon AU. I was watching it as they had 1 new one left and then it dropped to the equiv. of $750 USD so I jumped on it. It is very very nice. I still love the Lox 21mm more personally but I will still enjoy it when I need something tighter. Its got that real snap and depth to the photos much like the 21mm.
I just got the L25 and L35 from MPB while also winning a bid on a CV35APO, so now I have two 35mm lenses for my A7CR. Although I like the L35, I can't return the CV35APO, so I will return the L35.
As for the L25, I guess I would be better served by the 24GM since it is two lenses in one (can do f/1.4 and very sharp at f/4).
As for the CV28APO, I think it is too close to your 35mm in FOV.
BTW, I don't seem to have any problems with any of these two Loxia lenses on my A7CR (interestingly, the L25 is displayed in CameraRaw as "ZEISS Loxia 2.4/25" while the L35 is displayed as "E 35mm f2". The CV35APO is also displayed in full name (same as L25).

I have struggled with the CV28 vs Loxia 25 question also. I currently have the Loxia 25 and the CV 35 APO. I think I will just stay with that pair and then beside focal length I can choose between sun star styles. Funny as I was dying for a great 28mm and now that it's here I am passing. Go figure.
Yeah, now I’m never getting rid of the Loxia 25 or 28 AL. I still love the Loxia 25 for landscape, but for me the 28 AL is a great all rounder. I enjoy shooting lots of different lenses and try to keep many of my faves in rotation over time.

I still use the Loxia 25 as an allround travel lens, having owned it since its release. I have used other lenses like the Nikon Z24 and Sony GM, but sold all and currently use a pair of Loxia lenses 25 + 50
I know tech is evolving fast and internet, mobile phones and now AI have greatly changed photography, making lenses like the MF Loxia lenses irrelevant like digital made film irrelevant. But I still take the Sony A7RIII with the pair of Loxias on all my trips and whenever I want to enjoy photography and the images have a special character that I like a lot.
I regret that a modern Loxia 35 and 50 were never made, and that the support for the Loxia lenses was dropped by Zeiss as well as Sony, meaning that the auto magnification bug was never solved. Partly a hardware problem, sure, but while the Loxia 25 was bad on the A1, it works flawlessly on the A7RIII, so a software solution could have been released by Sony if there had still been support for these lenses. I especially bought a new A7RIII to be rid of the bug, but in doing so found that I like the look of the images best with this pairing of body and lens. I do miss the A1 viewfinder though that made manual focus a pleasure.
I too still have a lot of love for my Loxia 25 (and other Loxia's) as well. It is sad that they are no longer made, they deserve a place in the Sony system.
Only 2 negatives for me with the Loxia 25 is that I very much prefer the lighter weight of the L35 and L50 compared to L25. It isn't much difference, but it is there. Second I find the stiffness of the focus ring a bit too much. My L35 and L50 focus ring is much less stiff. Maybe it will improve over time.
I have just lined up my 4 lenses intended to pair with my A7CR and they all share almost the same dimensions (well, at least the lenght): L25 / CV35APO / Zeiss55 / CV90/2.8 + adapter. They seem to give a quite nice progression with regards to FOV. But the bug is still whispering me that a 24GM would make more sense, although I don't really shoot action (GM) nor do I shoot landscapes (L25) as my main subjects.
BTW about the today's L25's relevance.....
I'm selling my copy. It's in perfect condition, complete with box. I've been hunting it for sale for quite some time, used.
I was happy with it. But I always felt it lacked width and aperture; I often shoot landscapes wide open. So when the Nokton 21/1.4 came on sale, I bought it without a second thought. And the Loxia 25 immediately went on the shelf. It seems like a small difference, just 4 mm, but the picture is completely different, exactly what I was expecting.
There's no demand for the lens. Prices are slightly higher in Russia; I bought mine for $800, while a new one costs around $1,000.
I won't sell it, I'll keep it. I don't mind having spares

I really like your photos with the Voigtlander 21mm. If I was travelling to really scenic nature places I'd pick one. But not on my to do list at the moment, want to do mostly cities this spring/summer. Cafes, outdoor restraunts, beaches, some sightseeing. Chilling and some walking basically, a bit less adventurous.
I still want something a tad wider and I think catacore is right, when 35mm is too tight you usually want a bit wider than 28mm too. I think. Though if I was taking the 35mm I probably wouldn't take anything else in the cities so the wider lens would be paired with the 50/55 (leaning nokton over zeiss, maybe even the 40. They can just be patient!).
I was thinking the 25 might be about right. I'm not big on sunstars but it looks like I can't really escape them if I want to keep the size down.
Was the photo above with the Loxia 25, and if you know the camera (sensor)? Sometimes with these older lenses you get the wrong impression because the samples are all on much older sensors. Though I only have an a7cii.
