Selling my gently used Kaiser RS1 (model 5510) copy stand. Includes RA1 camera arm.
Hello, I'm at the early stages of looking into digitally shooting my 6x6 negatives, rather than scan. I have a heavyish Hasselblad X1D and old sense with adapter and extension tubes. I believe this would be tall enough but I wonder if it could handle the weight of the camera and lens. Thoughts?
Kaiser says it is rated for a payload of 4 kg (8.8 lbs). Your camera is around 0.8 kg I think, so depending on how much the lens and tubes weighs, you should be okay. I've had a GFX100s, bellows, a variety of lenses on this without any problem.
Please email me at xxxxx if $500 is in the ballpark. I just might need to spend that much for something taller that can handle the weight of a medium format camera, extension tubes, vintage lens... How was your scanning with the GFX? Or was it not up to expectations and the reason you're selling the stand? I ask this because some are saying a full frame camera might be better. I think I need to plunge into this and figure it out and learn as I go instead of over thinking and never taking the first step.
