p.1 #1 · Broken Arch at sunset

A multishot panorama of Broken Arch, one of the first arches I ever saw in Arches National Park back in 2016...I knew I had to return to this scene at sunset and capture the light on the rocks of Sand Dune Arch, as seen through the lens of Broken Arch. The La Sal Mountains make for a beautiful backdrop on the left as the late day golden light spills into the field between Broken and Sand Dune.

Thank you! I was dreaming about how to shoot it for years after seeing it

Sweet! I like the composition...the moon up in the sky adds to its visual qualities!

Thanks Al! Always funny small the moon ends up being in shots like this when it feels so big while shooting.

Nice, the panoramic format is perfect for this shot Scott! Lots of three dimensionality to it.

I was just there a couple months ago, and you've captured it very well! Know what you mean about the moon seeming so huge in person only to find it small in the resulting photos.

Thanks, I love making panos like this, but they are so hard to display anywhere properly except on a wall printed 5' wide

Definitely one of my favorite little trails to just lolly gag around at sunset...that field between Dune and Broken arches is surreal.
