One of my favorite flowers and certainly my most favorite girl. Out for the weekend to catch a concert at the Embassy Theater in Fort Wayne Indiana and we took time to stroll the beautiful Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory and captured this moment.
A kind of Nature/Wildlife image!
C&C always appreciated, thanks for the visit

Karl. I can't believe no one has commented on this image. It's quite beautiful all 'round. Great job. I'm not sure if this is a critique, but I'm wondering if you added a vignette with also darkened the upper tip of the BOP, and wonder what it would look like with that masked off.
And Fort Wayne, the home of my favorite store - Sweetwater.

Hello Peter and thanks much for lending your critical and creative eye! Yes there was a fairly heavy vignette and I didn't catch how much it darkened the tip of the BOP. Here is the image removing enough mask to give back the light to the tip of the BOP.
And Yes I did not realize that Ft Wayne was home to Sweetwater, passed it up and wished I knew as I would have made time to stop in.

Hello Dan, thanks for the kind words buddy. She knew I liked this flower and she was quick to point it out to me, kiss the birdie worked out for a fun shot.

Excellent work - the composition creates Zoomorphism and make the Bird of Paradise seem truly like a bird kissing back!
Hi Karen and thanks a bunch for the comment. People pics take me so far out of my comfort zone, I have the utmost respect for those that do the work like you do and after visiting your website I am honored you commented
The BOP does have unique character and lifelike in this capture, thanks again!
Really good use of light, especially considering people aren't your usual subject. Personally I prefer the shot without the vignette, but that's subjective.

I completely missed this Karl, excellent photo. Very classy how you posed this shot.
No problem Louie it's not my normal area to ever post in though I do look and learn from the ones that do. Thanks much for the visit and kind comment buddy.

Well done, Karl. I'm with you on "people pics". Definitely changes the game.
Appreciate the visit Vic, I've never had a bird, bug, animal complain about the pic I took of it but my girlfriend will reject 99.5% of my pics of her she doesn't know I posted this one YIKES!!

I appreciate your opinion on the vignette, seems to give more energy without out it so I agree with you and Peter that without is more beneficial overall to the image feel. Always appreciate your work, thanks for stopping by to comment and suggest.

Karl - I actually like *some* vignette to the image, just with the orange masked out and probably her hair as well - sort of like half way in between the two version but mask the orange out and her hair to keep the hair from being crushed. It's your image so it's up to you in the end but it's a good enough image to live with for a bit and come back to, look at it fresh after a couple of days and paying attention to your immediate reaction to it anew.
Altering the mask is trivial in Ps but I have no idea about Lr if that's what you're using.

Nice image, Karl
I too love this flower and you've used it well in the image ..
Can be a bit difficult to kiss it though (haven't tried)
Thank you for the kind words. I think more an embrace than a kiss perhaps It was a spontaneous fun moment, glad I caught it she is a joy
