Brick, one of my daughters just returned from 2 weeks there, her second time. She absolutely loves it, and I can see why. These shots are fabulous!!! Some day.......
I loved New Zealand when I was there in the 1970's! It was still remote and rugged and stayed that way!
Excellent photography! Thanks for the journey!

Taking this trip was grueling, not just from getting up every morning at 4:30 or 5 to catch the light, but physically - walking through waist high freezing water, landing on 8,000 foot peaks in sub-freezing temperatures with 30 mph winds, traversing slippery uneven rock beds in the stream and rainforests with deep potholes hidden by dead foliage, all with 20 pounds of gear on my back. I just turned 69 and at times seriously questioned what I had gotten myself into. But I got through it without injury (praise the Lord) and experienced one of the most beautiful places on earth. I’m glad I went, and especially glad I went this year because who knows how much longer i’ll be able to deal with such physical rigor.
