In our recent trip to Churchill, besides the polar bears, we encountered many Cross Foxes, which are a type of Red Fox with a cross-like dark bar on their back (hence the name cross fox). We also saw only one Arctic Fox. I had taken pictures of red foxes before but it was my first time ever seeing the beautiful Arctic Fox. Also it was my first time seeing and taking pictures of foxes in the snow which was a very different and amazing experience...
All shot with either Sony A1 or Sony A9II, and with either 600mm f/4 or the 200-600mm lens.
Wonderful set Chris, and I must confess before I read your explanation I saw number 3 and thought ok, that fox looks a little cross. 😀 What a trip you had, congrats!

Wow what a great set of images. They are all fantastic. The Arctic fox is special. You sure got some great closeup shots even with a 600. Beautiful detail.

And this is a head and shoulder portrait version of #4 where this cross fox decided to walk towards us and pose for us at the MFD for my 600mm
