Cypress groves are so "other-worldly" to someone from the Northern Rockies. It's mesmerizing!
I need to make a trip to see. these things for myself.

Beautiful image! I love the perspective and the light is simply gorgeous. I've wanted to visit Caddo Lake for many years and still have not made it. I once attended a professional photography seminar by a photographer named 'Red' -- he operated a studio in Utopia, TX and was one of the most creative guys I've ever seen. Needless to say, he had some amazing images from Caddo Lake.
I haven't given up, and hope to make it yet.
We're on a quest to visit all the state parks here in TX. I keep seeing all the beautiful images coming out of Caddo Lake and have decided we certainly need to make the visit in the fall once our smallest are big enough to safely stay in a boat for a good while!
One of my classmates growing up went every year to camp but they always went in the summer; the humidity and heat that time of year must be something else.
